How do I join?
Go to the Join Now page of our website.
What areas do you service?
Not all areas of Sydney are covered yet. We’re working as fast as we can and adding suburbs all the time. Join now and we'll check if your suburb is covered. If not we will make sure you are on our waitlist.
Why don’t you service every suburb?
We intend to expand to every suburb as quickly as possible. Follow us on social media or join now so you’ll be the first to know when we open in your area.
When will I get my bin?
Your bin will be delivered within 10 business days of joining.
What if I live in a suburb not yet serviced by Can Club?
Make sure you join now and follow us on social media to be kept in the loop about when we’ll be opening in your area.
Is this a council service?
No, we are an independently owned and operated local family business.
What can I put in my Can Club bin?
Only eligible bottles, cans and containers. Look for the 10c label to see if it is eligible for a refund.
Most cans (e.g. soft drinks), and bottles ( e.g. beer bottles) are eligible.
Most containers between 150ml and 3 litres are accepted and can get you a refund. However, they must be empty, in good condition and have the label attached.
Remember to leave the lids on when returning your containers. They'll be recycled too.
Please do not place other recyclables or waste in our bins.
Do I have to home when my bin is delivered?
No, you don’t need to be home. Just let us know a safe place to leave it.
Bins, Containers & Collections
Do I need to use a Can Club bin?
Yes. Using Can Club bins helps us keep the cost of the service down as much as possible. We use special bin lifting equipment to handle the bins for emptying, sorting and counting.
Do I have to buy the bin?
No, you don't need to buy a Can Club bin. There is no up-front cost. We currently provide a bin free of charge. A $19.99 once-off account fee is deducted from your 1st collection(s).
Who owns the bin?
Can Club owns the bin. Please take all reasonable steps to keep the bin in a safe place so it does not get damaged, or stolen.
Can I use the bin for other things?
Please No! Your Can Club bin is only for deposit containers. The more empty deposit containers you include the more you’ll earn!
Do you have scheduled collection days?
No, when your bin is full, simply sign in and select a collection day from the available dates.
Does my bin need to be full, before it's collected?
We collect full bins free of charge.
We are happy to collect your bin upon your request, whether full or not.
Some customers have their bin collected before it is full if they know they have big event coming up, say Xmas or a party.
We charge $4.99 for collecting partially full bins.
Where do I put my bin when it's ready to be collected?
Can Club bins are like a box full of money, so can be very attractive to passers-by. Keep your bin in a secure but reasonably accessible place, and we’ll arrange to collect it from your nominated location. Just make sure we can access the bin safely and won’t encounter any obstacles like dogs, locked gates or flights of stairs!
Do I need to wash my containers?
Containers should be empty of liquid, but you don’t need to clean them.
Should I need to crush my containers?
No. We only accept and pay for bottles, cans and containers that are in good, uncrushed condition.
Do you accept all bottles, cans and containers?
No – only deposit containers. If you’re not sure, check the container for the 10c label.
Why does my bin look cleaner after collection day?
We take your entire bin to an approved collection depot and replace it with a clean, empty bin. It’s all part of the service!
Can I include bottle caps in my Can Club bin?
Yes, please leave all caps on your plastic bottles when placing them in your Can Club bin.
Pricing, Partners & Your Account
How will I know how much I've earned?
Within five days of collecting your bin we’ll send you notification of:
a) The number of deposit containers we counted from your bin.
b) The total we have paid into your nominated account.
How can a charity or club become a partner?

How do I know my donation has gone to the selected charity?
(Coming Soon) Can Club will send you a receipt, that shows the money has been paid to your nominated charity or club. Receipts are issued at the end of the financial year. You should check with your financial advisor whether you are able to claim it as a tax deduction.
Can I choose which partner to donate my money to?
(Coming Soon) Yes. Choose from the list here. We work with local sports and community clubs as well as larger, more well-known clubs and charities.
Can I nominate my local sporting club?
Sure, absolutely, we welcome all sporting clubs. Please get your club to get in touch with us here.
How do I close my Can Club account?
Not sure why you'd want to! But sure, no problems, its easy.
We have no fixed term contracts. Just contact us here and we'll take it from there.
What happens when my Can Club account is closed?
We’ll be in touch via sms or email, and arrange your final collection (generally within ten days).
You’ll need to make sure the bin is accessible.
We’ll collect it, make a final deposit payment to your nominated bank account, charity or club.
Our 240L bins can hold around 200 containers.
Only 10¢ refundable bottles, cans and containers are processed for a refund.
